With the conclusion of two successful concerts at Tulane University, we’re proud to say that Lunar’s 12/13 season is over, and that we have had a very successful Pierrot Centenary Project!
In our 13/14 season, the Lunar Ensemble will continue to explore the way in which powerful spoken or sung messages can be combined with a unified interpretation of instrumental music.
On August 28, 1963 Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to the people of America, with a moving speech that changed history. To celebrate the 50 years of change since this occasion, we offer residencies to universities and music schools around the United States, for which their student composers will be invited to write powerful musical messages through melodrama, portraying peace, freedom, and equality.
The Lunar Ensemble is interested in bringing I Have a Dream to colleges, universities and organizations all over the country. If you or your institution/organization is interested a collaboration, please send the Lunar Ensemble an email of interest at firstname.lastname@example.org
